Early Writing Screener For Preschoolers
Is Coming Soon

Did you know that writing and drawing are two symbol systems that children in literate societies must master? Although it is easy for adults to distinguish between these two systems, it is sometimes confusing for children. Without this skill, children will find it hard to learn and understand how to write.

Children learn about these systems through "statistical learning" from as early as 2 years and 8 months. It is learnt implicitly and not taught. However, if they haven't developed this skill, it must be taught.

Our early writing/literacy screener lets parents, carers and early years settings check if children understand the difference between writing and drawing systems, and provides guidance with support or intervention strategies.
